ロータリーでスピーチ！

松江ロータリークラブの例会に招かれ、ゲストスピーチをしてきた。
ロータリークラブとは、聞いたことはあっても、実際にどんな方がいて、
どんな風に会合されているか、なんて、知らなかった。
ライオンズとはまた違って、「各々の職業を通して、社会に貢献する」というのが
会の信条だということ。初めて知った。

いつもは女性の聴衆が多いのに、こんなに男性ばっかり（しかも、年配の！）、
というのは、あまりない。珍しく、緊張する！！
そんな中、
「インテリアでできること」というテーマでスピーチした。

あらかじめ、パワーポイントで作った画面で、スピーチをすすめる。
仕事に対する思い、取り組み、リフォームでの実例などを使って、話す。


この年齢になって、思うのは、
仕事が単に自分のためや、目の前の顧客だけのため、
というのではなく、
仕事をとおして、いかに社会に恩返しできるか・・・ということ。


インテリアを通してでできることは、
地球環境を守ること、家族の健康や絆を守ること、伝統産業や、職人技を守ること。

そんなことで締めくくった。

言葉だけではなく、思いだけでなく、
実行して行きたいと思う。
